About Me

I was really shocked to realize that it has now been 20 years since I had my first job in a library! I started as a summer student assistant at Tutt Library at Colorado College. After graduating I worked there for several more years in Cataloging before deciding to attend grad school.

I got my MSLIS degree back in 1993, when the Internet was not yet a formal element of the curriculum at Simmons College. Yet thanks to the foresight of some great mentors and faculty such as Candy Schwarz, I was able to explore emerging technologies through independent study. What an exciting decade in which to join this profession!

After Simmons, I landed my first professional position at Eastern New Mexico University where I had various job responsibilities over time including instruction, interlibrary loan, and systems.

I am now Dean of the Library at Colorado State University – Pueblo, where I am fortunate to work with some of the best librarians around!

In this blog, I hope to foster discussion with all of you about library issues that are on my mind. I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to my World.
