Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you all have a good and well-deserved break.

In the Good Old Summertime

Hi. Well I obviously haven’t been blogging much this summer and I currently have 602 unread blog postings to get through. But it will just have to wait! I’m going on vacation next week. I hope to return to blogging in August. Until then, I hope you are all enjoying your summer!

I’m Back!

Hi Everyone,

I’ve broken the cardinal rule of blogging, I know! Post frequently. But the truth is, for the last several weeks, I simply haven’t felt like saying anything. It’s been a tough time for all of us at our library lately. One of our staff members experienced a personal loss and it has been very devastating for all of us also. In addition, it’s the end of the semester and everything is due. You know what I’m talking about. In any case, I finally am motivated to post.

And what motivates me you ask? Why, doubling my space on pbwiki, that’s what. Did you know that educational wikis on pbwiki.com are ad free? Check it out. By posting about this on my blog, pbwiki says they will double our storage space. I’ll let you know what happens.

We’re getting closer to the date of the Colorado Academic Library Consortium Summit on May 31. If you haven’t signed up, hurry and reserve your seat. We have some awesome keynote speakers including Joan Lippincott and Carie Windham. http://www.clicweb.org/calc2007/

See you soon, Rhonda

ACRL Baltimore 2007

Just wanted you all to know that I will be out of the library all week. I’m going on a short trip to New Mexico with my family the first part of the week and then heading to Baltimore for ACRL on Thursday.

See you in Baltimore! Have a Great Spring Break.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and hope you are able to celebrate the feast day of Saint Patrick! Read below for a wikipedia description of the life of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick

When it Rains it Pours

Well, as you’ve probably noticed by now, I’ve posted three times today! After hardly posting at all in the last month. I also finally got through all 450 or so unread blog postings in my Bloglines reader. I feel sooo much better. I also figured out how to add my avatar to my site. That’s what I really look like 😉 (hey, it’s virtual reality!)

One of the reasons I have been busy is that I’m actually teaching some Information Literacy sessions this semester. I’m a bit out of practice, so I’m having to do a lot of prep. I’m pitching in because our information literacy pilot program is growing like gang busters. I’m so pleased with the work that our new Instruction Coordinator, Courtney Bruch, has been doing that I thought I’d point you to her webpages that outline our new Information Literacy Plan. We have more than doubled the number of sessions we are teaching this semester. Go Courtney! And, also, I would like to thank all the other librarians at CSU-Pueblo for taking on this challenge and teaching more and different sessions!

About Me

Hi. My name is Rhonda. I’m a librarian. Well, I’m lots of other things as well, but my profession is librarianship. I graduated from Simmons College in 1993 and now I’m Dean of the Library at Colorado State University – Pueblo. I’m also a mom, with four children! Where do you think I get my information about current technology? I plan to write about the library and the Web, my many attempts to organize all my online information and media, and anything else that occurs to me! See you @ the library. 😉
